Current Vacancies
Casual Drivers (Launceston, Glenorchy, St Helens)
About the Roles
We currently have opportunities for experienced casual Driver in Launceston, St Helens and Glenorchy. The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of the Area Connect service and will provide transport to jobseekers and participants undertaking education and training activities allowing them to increase skills and to secure and sustain employment.
The position is classified at Grade 3 of the Passenger Vehicle Transportation Award with the benefit of salary sacrifice options.
The successful candidate will be offered casual shifts Monday to Friday within our normal operating hours to deliver transport to our participants.
Key responsibilities of the position are to:
- Safely operate Area Connect and CTST vehicles of varying sizes
- Ensure the provision of service is efficient and aligns to schedules and established timeframes
- Confidently use mobile devices and information technology e.g. mobile phone, i-Pad
- Maintain professional and appropriate relationships with passengers, employees and the general public at all times
- Ensure that vehicles are always maintained in a safe operating condition including the completion of pre-departure checks and end of day procedures
- Follow established procedures for record keeping and reporting and collect fares when required
- Work collaboratively with the Regional and Local Coordinators to communicate feedback / seek solutions to overcome any barriers to providing an optimal service
- Role model positive behaviours to participants, providing suggestions, advice, and open honest feedback where appropriate
About You
We are looking for someone who is motivated, enthusiastic and possesses the following skills and attributes:
- High standards of professionalism with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Approachable, flexible and committed to the delivery of exceptional standards of service to enhance the experience of jobseekers
- Ability to work autonomously, interpret a “run sheet” and organise work with limited supervision
- A team player with strong computer literacy and high levels of organisation
- MR / HR licence an advantage but not essential
All Area Connect employees must hold a:
- current driver’s licence
- ancillary certification (PPV – Other)
- Working with Vulnerable Persons Card (or be willing to obtain)
- current National Police Check (or be willing to obtain)
