Community Transport Services Tasmania’s (CTST) purpose is to provide affordable transport to support people to live well and connect with their community. We provide social and non-emergency medical transport to frail, aged and younger disabled people, enabling independence and quality of life. Within the flagship organisation, the social enterprise, Area Connect, provides flexible transportation to serve smaller and more remote communities in Tasmania where mainstream public transport is not readily available.
These casual positions are based in Mowbray and will support community transport services across the greater Launceston area. Hours and days will vary from 1-5 days a week as demand requires.
You will need:
- Experience in transporting passengers in a professional role
- To be motivated, enthusiastic and flexible
- Proven strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer skills
- Current Light Rigid Drivers Licence and Public Passenger Vehicle Ancillary Certificate
- Current Working with Vulnerable People Check
- Current National Police Check
- Ability to comply and promote all Area Connect & WHS Policies and Procedures

Casual Café Attendant
Area Connect is a social enterprise of Community Transport Services Tasmania Inc (CTST), which delivers innovative transport services to regional areas. In our new purpose-built community transport facility in Glenorchy, we have built a reception area in the style of a modern suburban café environment to cater for staff, volunteers, passengers and visitors to provide a fresh face for the organisation as it grows and innovates.
The Café Attendant is the face of the CTST/Area Connect Head Office. They welcome staff, volunteers and visitors to the building and ensure that they are signed in and our procedures followed, while making excellent coffee. They undertake a range of tasks associated with the running of the café including food preparation, cleaning and contributing to workplace health and safety.
The position is in Glenorchy and is classified at Grade 2 of the Restaurant Industry Award 2010 with an hourly rate of $26.49. Hours will be variable but will be rostered and should include shifts available each week. The café operates Monday to Friday between the hours of 7:00am and 5:00pm.
